Magic Means 6 & 7 Are Out!

At long last, the dramatic, humorous and often sexy Magic Means series continues with two new books. Congregation: Magic Means 6 introduces a new character: Amy Angel. She’s escaping her stepfather, who has been keeping her under strict control as she models for his extremely chaste tease website, Christian Stars. Tired of getting little pay and no freedom, she slips out of her Stepfather’s grasp and makes her way to the Van Veld building, where she knows her old friend, Samantha will help her.

Amy Angel also brings bad news: the church her Stepfather’s involved with is preparing to protest the very existence of Van Veld Books, the first real Occult store in Old Town in years.

Meanwhile, Scott and Isabel explore their relationship and Old Town a little as they go on their first real date together. The rock star themed evening is sure to heat up. There are many more events in Congregation, which lead directly to the next book.

With the impending arrival of protestors and magicians from another world, the residents of the Van Veld Building find their own ways of dealing with, or avoiding stress. Inez begins to lean on old habits, hiding and peeping on people to see what they do when they think no one’s watching. Isabel and Scott are enjoying the afterglow of their first date and training new employees for the magic shop. Samantha is in hot pursuit of a new lover, but she’s still unsure of who she really wants; Ruby or Craig. Ruby continues to learn new things about who she may be, what magical power she might have and who she wants to flirt with most.

Mack and Lilith continue opening doors for the newcomer, Amy Angel, who is determined to become a sex star on the Internet to undermine her Stepfather and his wholesome picture site, of which she was the unpaid star model. There’s a lot going on, including a magical awakening, a mini-orgy, messy faeries, a new curse, a Peeping Pam, unexpected matchmaking, raging hormones and other things that I won’t spoil here.

Congregation: Magic Means Book 6 Is Almost Here!

Congregation: Magic Means Book 6

(If you’re new to the series, you can grab the first three books for free here).

On July 24, 2020, Congregation: Magic Means Book 6 will be out on all quality retailers. Sadly, that doesn’t include Amazon, you can refer to my earlier post about that if you want to know why.

This book takes us to the lighter side of the Magic Means series where Ruby the succubus is still trying to find out about her past and her place. Isabel and Scott finally have their first real date and they try doing things rock star style while Mack and Lilith find a new hobby, the first one they can explore together.

Meanwhile, a dark cloud looms. Bad news comes from an unlikely messenger; Amy Angel, the feature model of the ultra-clean, chaste Christian Stars website, where bare shoulders and steamy looks are the most the patrons get to see. She’s escaping her stepfather, who keeps nearly all the money from her photo shoots. He happens to own the religious supply store down the street, and is gathering people to protest Van Veld Books, accusing them of witchcraft.

He’s right, of course, there’s magic happening in the Van Veld building, and things are about to get even more mystical with the return of Isabel and Inez’s father, High Priest Mitchel. There are plenty of sexy shenanigans as well, as a Peeping Pam starts prowling about, and someone is about to discover they have more power than expected.

You can wait until it comes out on the 24th, or pre-order at the links below. Watch for an announcement about Enchanted: Book 7 of the Magic Means series, which will follow on the 28th.

Going Big In 2020

For an agonizing three months all my best books have only been available only on Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited platform. Sure, I opted in myself, but after spending on advertising, writing more content and releasing it wide (Magic Means Books 4-5), and working on other plans to get page reads there, things didn’t turn out as I would have liked.

Most importantly, people who didn’t want to grab my stuff from Amazon couldn’t get it elsewhere. As I discovered through a few direct messages and emails, that is definitely a problem.

So, soon you can expect to find my work everywhere, no more exclusives. That is, unless it’s one of my new short stories, which won’t appear on Amazon for the foreseeable future because those stories are too controversial or graphic for that platform.

I think there will be a day when Amazon removes most of the self-published controversial erotic content from their platform, and I plan on already being well established elsewhere, on platforms like Smashwords, where imaginative writers and interested readers can enjoy pretty much whatever they like. Barnes & Noble, Kobo Adult, and the Apple Books platform deserve a mention too. They haven’t caught the censorship bug yet.

So, on January 7, 2020, my books will be set free, and they’ll be available everywhere quality racy pop literature is sold. For Kindle Unlimited readers who discovered me there, you have until January 3 to read those pages, after that you have to buy my work like everyone else, but it’s worth it.

Until then, here are two free short, spicy stories you can download anywhere but Amazon. Teenage Hot Tub Threesome | Poolside Surprise

Founder: Magic Means Book 1 Available Today!

Founder-GenericWith a few last minute changes, Magic Means Book 1 is out today! The final title for this book is: Founder. It was the most fitting title because it refers to two characters that are critical to the series and focused on in this novel.

There are three parallel storylines featured in Founder: Magic Means Book 1. Each has lasting consequences for the entire series, so there is some depth to this series opener. Magic Means is a passion project for me, and I’m happy to say that there is some comedy, heart, action and yes – a few sexy scenes.

I’m wrapping up editing on Seeker: Magic Means Book 2 right now, and it will be out in July 21 of this year.

I hope you enjoy Founder: Magic Means Book 1. I’m happy to offer it to you for free.  Here’s where you can find it:

Smashwords [Available in all formats]
iBooks (By Apple)
Barnes & Noble [Coming Soon]

Wicked Space Series Cancelled

Wicked-Space-GenericThe feedback for Wicked Space has been largely positive. Most of the criticism I received was constructive and absolutely helpful for the first book and I agree with most of the comments early readers were kind enough to share with me. So, my experience with Wicked Space Book 1 has been great so far.

If that’s the case, then why am I cancelling it?

Wicked Space Book 1 was originally written under the name Dariya Saint, and I shared it chapter by chapter on LitErotica. There’s a tendency to include as many sex scenes as you can when you’re publishing on that site because of the sheer number of people who turn up for only that content – a quick sex scene to titillate to the point of satisfaction before they move on to another site – and I definitely fell into that trap. That led to Wicked Space Book 1 having more sex scenes than plot content, and they weren’t the best sex scenes to begin with. Nor was the breeding war idea explored well. It’s not a new idea in science fiction for humanity to have to breed their numbers back to a sustainable level, I think there was even an R rated SciFi flick in the 70’s based on the idea, and I know a lot of erotic novels went there too. In short, I asked myself if I would change much of the book if I could rewrite it and the answer was a resounding YES! I would scrap it and start over for the most part, keeping the adventure scenes with Perry and Bolts the Android practically unchanged. It was the other 70% of the book I’d chuck. Also, looking at Book 2, which is almost completely edited and ready now, I realized that it was so much better! When you release a new series, you have to start strong, and Book 1 is the weaker of the two novels by far. The constructive criticism I received pointed to that as well, so it wasn’t just me.

The sad part of this is that editing and rewriting would take months. So, since more than half of the first book would be cut completely, and the second book would have to change drastically, I decided to concentrate on something that’s working instead of trying to rebuild my sexy space opera. Magic Means is sexy, fun, has good characters, and a story with real heart. It stars characters who start out looking out for their own interests, but learn that they have a real need to protect others in a city that is largely influenced by the powers of darkness. The emotional response to the book is very real, with early readers cheering a few times, laughing many, many times, and even crying once or twice during a read through of the early material. That’s what I’d rather focus on.

Worry not! I will eventually write a Sexy Space Opera, but Magic Means will by my first series under the name Damon Rain. Wicked Space may have been the Sexiest Space Opera in the Galaxy, but it didn’t measure up to the standards I’d like to keep. I’ll resurrect the Wicked Space series with a different story someday, but for now, I’ll be writing about a great big Magic Shop in the middle of Old Town in the Magic Means series. Watch for it, you won’t regret it.
